A homeless man is travelling down a rustic lane, drained and hungry he comes throughout a pub referred to as the ‘George and the Dragon’.
Though it’s late and the pub is closed, he knocks on the door. The innkeeper’s spouse sticks her head out a window.
“Might I’ve some meals?”, he asks.
The girl glances at his shabby garments and clearly poor situation and sternly says, “No!”
“Any probability of a pint of ale then?”
“No!”, she says once more.
“Might I no less than sleep in your barn?”
“No!” By this time, she was clearly getting very irritated.
The down and out says, “Okay then may I please…?”
“What now?”, the lady interrupts impatiently.
“… may I please have a phrase with George?
